Objective 1

To assist with and promote membership in the parent organization by educating graduate students about the aims, ideas, and the opportunities it presents.

To build a community within and for the graduate student body by: hosting social events, providing opportunities to mentor peers/undergraduates and to be mentored by professionals, establishing open forums for communication, meeting regularly, and interacting with existing chapters.

To aid in the professional development of all chapter members by: inviting industry professionals to speak to members about biomedical engineering and related markets, hosting academic professionals to discuss research and funding tactics, and compiling resources about careers in biomedical engineering that are unrelated to industry or academia (including those in policy or at national laboratories related to the promotion or practice of biomedical engineering for public benefit).

Objective 4

To provide opportunities for members to participate in outreach via: resume workshops for members, peer-reviews for graduate students to practice presentations or discuss data sets, and academic tutoring for high school and undergraduate students interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or medicine.
